Every job is different. Some jobs can be produced same day while some may take over a week to complete. Let us know when you need your job completed and we’ll let you know if it can be done. We go to great lengths to meet even your most demanding timelines.
No, colours can change because of the calibrations and the fact that monitors have additive light as opposed to subtractive. If your colour is critical for your finished piece it is always best to ask for a hardcopy proof so you can see how it will look when it comes off the press.
PDF is our preferred file format. Most document/graphic creation software (Microsoft Office, Adobe, Corel, Google Suite) will output to PDF. The benefit to using PDF is that once created the content won’t change, you can be sure that the placement and fonts will stay the same, unless you ask for it to be changed.
We can also accept many other types of files including Microsoft Word, Publisher, Powerpoint, Excel, jpg, png, eps, Adobe Illustrator (ai), Photoshop (psd), Indesign with markup file(indd+idml) and Corel Draw (crd).
If you are supplying your files ready to print (RTP), we like crop marks, 3mm bleed, supplied single (unimposed), without registration marks and colour bars.
No, send us a single layout of your design unimposed, we will handle any imposition needed at our end.
Bleed is when the artwork extends past the trim area, we prefer 3mm. This is to ensure edge-to-edge colour on your final product and quality control to allow for any movement on the guillotine.
Margin/safe area is inside the trim area, keep any content like text or borders within the safe area (excluding anything that ‘bleeds’ off the edge). We require a minimum of 3mm but recommend 5mm from the trim. This avoids anything being accidentally trimmed or too close to the trim edge.
If it doubt just give us a call – we’re always happy to help.
CMYK, which stands for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and black, mixes those 4 colours to produce a full spectrum of colours. Our digital press prints with CMYK toner and we can print with CMYK ink on the offset press.
Spot colour is using ink mixed before printing. Using Pantone colours, spot colours can be much more vibrant and rich colours than CMYK, including opaque white and metallic colours like gold. Printing can be just 1 spot colour or multiple depending on your budget.
Pantone colours refer to the Pantone Matching System (PMS), an international colour matching system used by the printing industry whereby printing colours are identified by a unique name or number (as opposed to just a visual reference). This helps make sure that colors turn out the same from system to system, and print run to print run.
